Lot’s of hype on this band Oceano.  They are what most kids would call “deathcore” now-a-days.  They classify themselves as Metal/Hardcore/Death Metal, which I can agree with.  I hear a tinge of all of those genre’s in their songs.  At the top of their myspace profile, there is a one-liner pulled from a review that actually calls them a Noise band.  Noise is the new Emo, as far as misinterpretation and band misnomers.  I couldn’t disagree with that designation more.

I watched 2 of their videos, and I’ve never seen such a boring performance from any band of this genre.  The drummer looks bored.  Not even questionably.  He looks like he’d rather be watching Golden Girls re-runs.  The drums are so obviously triggered that he has to put little-to-no effort into playing…so I guess it’s understandable.

They really could use another guitarist too…one that actually performs and doesn’t just stand there gyrating his neck like it’s  ”Night at the Roxbury”.

They seem to be another classic case where over-production, and myspace hype will rocket them to their 15th minute well before they are ready.
