Guys in bands shouldn’t talk shit about other bands.

BUT, I’m not in a band at this moment, so here I go:

I’ve always been pretty picky with bands.  I hate more than I enjoy.  I’ve recently gotten wind of a band called Attack! Attack!, and my bowels are churning with anguish.

I’m not providing a link, because I would prefer that no one actually go and listen to them, so please take my word for it.  It is the most deplorable, worthless, and soulless shit that I’ve heard in a long time, with the exception of Brokencyde.  They actually share some attributes with Brokencyde.**

They actually managed to take the worst parts, of several genre’s and throw them together in what could only be referred to as sub-genre sonic vomit.  Complete with a Christian theme.  You really have to wonder, is these kids actually like what they are doing, or do they know damn well that they are playing on the emotions of everyone 10 years younger than them, and practicing all the “right moves”, and the right hair cuts, and the “in” musical clichés (chugs every 5 seconds, vocoder as an effect, squatting as if you need to shit on stage, sync’d up headbang moves, deep V-necks…the list goes on).  These are all the things that a band trying to make it big, should do, by all means.  However, a band in the heavy music field, bastardizing the genre, and making it so dishonest…makes me want to throw up.

**(A disclaimer  - I’m fully aware that music, for a lot of kids, is all about having fun.  I was one of those kids.  And I know that music, has a lot to do with being creative, and experimenting with new things.  I’m not saying that these guys probably aren’t having the time of their lives, and kudos to them for that.  I’m not unaware of young, adventurous naivety.  But…when you take a sounds and influences from so many different, opposing genre’s…you have to expect some shit for it.)
