I recently got my invite to the Google Voice service.  If you’re not familiar with Google Voice, go check out the site here.

I’ve added a widget to my sidebar on this site, so that anyone can leave me a voicemail on this new number.  The widget keeps my number private, and gives you the option to keep your number private as well.  However, Google’s settings for Voice, allow me to filter numbers and screen calls so thoroughly, that I don’t really mind giving out my Google Voice number.

What’s cool, is that if anyone calls that number, the call will be forwarded to my real cell phone.  If I don’t answer, a voicemail can be left on my Google Voice inbox, and they will transcribe it to text.
